چکیده

In the recent years we are witness of the permanent change in the climate. There a lot of regions victim of rainfalls and fires caused undesired landslides, defoliation and destruction of the landscapes. These phenomena pertain to climatologically destructive factors which have different manifestation during the seasons. Along with the progress of space technology, and the maturity of remote sensing technology, it is getting possible to carry out a consecutive, overall and dynamic monitoring of the whole world environmental changes. The paper aims at giving a research for retrieving seasonal forest fire monitoring from satellite remote sensing.

Forest Fire Potential Modeling and Simulation of its Extension Using Remote Sensing Data and GIS: (A Protected Area of Arasbaran)

Forest fire models are generally used in different aspects of fire management and are helpful in understanding and prediction of fire behavior. Forest fires cause a significant damage for public property by destroying a large tract of forest.  This helps fire fighters to focus on an area with greater risk and to develop better substructure for fire fighter training and ultimately to plan fire-f...

Forest Fire Smoke Detection Using Back-Propagation Neural Network Based on MODIS Data

Satellite remote sensing provides global observations of the Earth’s surface and provides useful information for monitoring smoke plumes emitted from forest fires. The aim of this study is to automatically separate smoke plumes from the background by analyzing the MODIS data. An identification algorithm was improved based on the spectral analysis among the smoke, cloud and underlying surface. I...

Remote Sensing Techniques in Monitoring Post-Fire Effects and Patterns of Forest Recovery in Boreal Forest Regions: A Review

The frequency and severity of forest fires, coupled with changes in spatial and temporal precipitation and temperature patterns, are likely to severely affect the characteristics of forest and permafrost patterns in boreal eco-regions. Forest fires, however, are also an ecological factor in how forest ecosystems form and function, as they affect the rate and characteristics of tree recruitment....

Evaluation of remote sensing indicators in drought monitoring using machine learning algorithms (Case study: Marivan city)

Remote sensing indices are used to analyze the Spatio-temporal distribution of drought conditions and to identify the severity of drought. This study, using various drought indices generated from Madis and TRMM satellite data extracted from Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Drought conditions in Marivan city from February to November for the years 2001 to 2017 were analyzed based on spatial a...

Development of a New Daily-Scale Forest Fire Danger Forecasting System Using Remote Sensing Data

Forest fires are a critical natural disturbance in most of the forested ecosystems around the globe, including the Canadian boreal forest where fires are recurrent. Here, our goal was to develop a new daily-scale forest fire danger forecasting system (FFDFS) using remote sensing data and implement it over the northern part of Canadian province of Alberta during 2009–2011 fire seasons. The daily...
